How EFT Can Increase Your Quality of Sleep

Before anyone fall to sleep, we go into a moment referred to as the “hypnagogic state”. Its basic characteristic that we all experience during nighttime is a sense of “drifting”, almost as though we were being carried on a gentle stream which was wafting us along. Because this “drifting sensation” is the most distinguishing characteristic, the most helpful thing that you could perform when you are not really sleepy when you lie down is to conduct the EFT. This technique is thought to work as a natural sleeping alternative to rid you of worries regarding insomnia and emotional stressors that could result in sleep disturbances.

The EFT therapy applies a tapping technique combined with stating a few phrases which help minimize the pressure and worry that insomnia could bring. The first thing to perform is to begin with a key phrase that is used to help remove the emotional reaction. For instance, “Even if I am worried I will never fall asleep, I love and accept myself fully.” or “Even though I am worried about my insomnia, I love and accept myself totally. Find the sore spot in the upper left or right area of your chest. The moment you’ve located it, rub it gently in circles a few times while saying your statement.

The basic period of the EFT method is to tap at the meridian points in the body: eyebrows, side of eyes, under eyes, under nose, chin, collarbone, under the armpits, all fingers except the ring finger, and the karate chop area of the hand. These points are considered to be areas where energy gets blocked. After tapping all the points, take a deep breath and see how you feel. If you are still concerned about not being able to sleep, tap some more. The full EFT procedure could be repeated until a sense of comfort is achieved.

So, before you go to bed at night, carry out a couple of rounds on any upsets, disappointments or frustrations you have experienced during the day and you will feel the benefits of EFT right away.
