Rid yourself of the symptoms of stress

Symptoms of stress are as different as there are people suffering from it.

People generally suffer symptoms in one or more areas of their lives: mind, body and emotions.

Some common symptoms of stress are sleeping too much, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, tight stomach, tight muscles, pain, moody, irritability, depressed, anxious, lack of sense of humor and being abrasive.

You probably don’t know it but, stress has probably caused you a lot of grief already. The symptoms are frequently disguised as other problems.

Symptoms signal that stress is doing damage. Symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder usually develop within the first 3 months after the trauma, but they may not surface until months or even years have passed.

Psychological impacts like depression, apathy and unstoppable anxiety are very common symptoms of stress.

Health effects of stress that are left untreated can play a role in circulatory diseases such as coronary heart disease, sudden cardiac death and strokes. Problems accumulate quickly when stress is constant.

Factors such as job insecurity, long hours, continuous change and unrealistic deadlines all contribute to stress.

Feeling overwhelmed by the demands life makes on you, feeling as if you cannot control life’s events, these all gang up on you to increase stress.

You are probably suffering from severe stress if you are experiencing memory or concentration problems, insomnia or broken sleep.

Recognize common stress symptoms - then take steps to manage them. Recognize the triggers or stresors in your life. Relaxation techniques like meditation are another great option for relieving stress.

Avoid alcohol or drugs as a way of coping, they only mask problems and exacerbate the issues later. Avoid making negative predictions about possible outcomes.

Certain personality types also tend to bring on more stress, and respond to stressful situations less effectively, such as perfectionists or those who are ‘Type A’. Certain lifestyle factors and attitudes can be telling indicators also.

Let it Go: A Holiday Guide to Self Appreciation

What do the holidays mean to you? Many of us want the warm hugs and thoughtful wishes we associate with holiday get-togethers. We want to feel appreciated and loved. But for many the holiday seasons bring about stress and only remind us of our troubled hearts.

What happens to us then, how do we start with a desire to be loved, and share it with others, and end up feeling stressed? The answer is simple; we only have a difference between what we want and what we believe. Our beliefs can be filled with concepts and memories that support us or diminish us. We want the safe and loving feelings, but sometimes we cannot let ourselves be in that loving space.

Well now, that was a little depressing, wasn’t it? It doesn’t need to be that way. We are Spirit, which means we are not our experiences. Our life is meant to serve us, providing fuel for our growth and evolution. So what happens? We take those memories and assessments of our lives as the rules, and build upon these unsteady platforms. Talk about false idols! We turn our thought into a thing of value, and place those thoughts above all else, including ourselves.

It’s time to bring things back into focus. This means recognizing who you are. You are Spirit, and you are loved, not for what you do, but for who you are. It’s time to remove that crusty outer layer ifit doesn’t honor or serve you. The trick is stepping out of the story long enough to see that you are not your life experiences.

What means do we have to bring ourselves out of the story and into a clearer perspective? One way is through a spiritual reading session. You see, those stresses tell you that there is a discrepancy between your inner beliefs and your outer events. When we are in flow between our wants and needs, and reflect that into the world we feel happier, and loved.

A spiritual seer can help you fill in the picture and find a new perspective in life. You can bridge that gap by gaining clarity about your life experiences and lessons you seek to learn as a spiritual being.

Holiday stress is an opportunity for growth. You can listen to those inner signals, those events that cause you tensions, and ask that magic question: what am I leaving out? The answer to that question is always going to be you.

The Absolute Best Canker Sore Remedies You Don’t Know About

Those painful canker sores! These recurring ulcerated sores inside the mouth appear on the tongue, soft palate, or inside the checks. Eating isn’t a pleasant experience when you have an outbreak.

It’s frustrating that there seems to be no consensus on what causes them, or if they can be triggered by bacterial or viral infections, allergic reactions to food, a vitamin deficiency, or if they are contagious.

It appears that different causes may be the trigger for different people. To find an effective treatment, it’s helpful if you can determine what seems to cause them by paying attention to patterns of occurrence.

IS IT A VIRAL INFECTION? If your canker sores occur after a dental procedure or other painful experience in the mouth area, for example, biting the inside of your cheek, or when you are experiencing stress, are over-tired, or receiving chemo therapy or radiation treatments, consider a virus as the culprit.

Items that Contain Anti-viral Properties:

Propolis - Produced by bees, propolis is used as a construction material in bee hives, comprised of a complex of chemicals which play a role as an antiviral agent. This is not a good choice for those who are allergic to propolis.

Golden Seal Mouth Wash - Golden Seal is an herb. Use it to make a mouth wash by mixing a quarter teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of golden seal powder (contents of one capsule) into a cup of warm water. Be aware that the golden seal powder will not dissolve completely but the mixture will still work fine. Rinse your mouth with the mouth wash at least three times a day.

Canker Sores Begone - My clients, readers, and others I’ve recommended it to rave about this topical, multi-herb product, which is packaged in a small pocket-sized bottle, convenient for throwing in your purse, backpack or gear for application wherever you happen to be.

FOOD ALLERGIES. When you eat acidic food such as a tomato, citrus fruit, strawberries, grapes, chocolate, certain nuts, spicy or salty food, sugar or coffee, do you get a canker sore? If the answer is yes, or I think so, try one or both (but not at the same time) of the following suggestions:

Eliminate the suspected foods for a few weeks, and then reintroduce them one at a time to see which one triggers a canker. This may take a little self-discipline, but it’s well worth the experiment.

If you prefer an approach that doesn’t involve food elimination, try nutritional supplementation. On a daily basis, take 1,000-1,200 milligrams of buffered vitamin C. This will help reduce the level of histamines in your body. You can enhance the effectiveness of the vitamin C by taking 1,000 milligrams of quercetin which by inhibiting histamine release, will reduce inflammation, allowing for a quicker healing of an existing canker sore.

FOR YOU, IT MIGHT BE A VITAMIN DEFICIENCY - You might be deficient in Thiamine. Research indicates it can result in recurring canker sores. You might want to experiment to see if thiamin prevents your mouth sores by taking 100 milligrams daily.

A High-Potency Multivitamin - I always recommend to buy vitamins at a health food store or online vitamin retailer, because there, you’ll know the vitamins will be of a higher quality. The vitamin you chose should include 500-1,000 micrograms of vitamin B12, 800 micrograms of folic acid, 20 milligrams of zinc, and 10 milligrams of iron. Add what you need to from individual supplements if the multivitamin doesn’t include all you need.

If nothing has worked from the previous recommendations, don’t worry. Here are two additional methods from which many people have found success:

Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGL) - This is a form of the herb known as licorice. It has anti-inflammatory properties, speeds the healing process, and soothes the discomfort of canker sores. Take two 200-milligram tablets 20 minutes before meals, or chew one or two tablets two or three times a day. Use until the sore heals.

Tea Bag - Tannin from tea may relieve the pain almost instantly. Hold a used tea bag against the sore for a few minutes. Repeat a few times daily until healed.

In deciding upon which of these options to try, be patient and persistent. If one remedy doesn’t seem to work, try another. Finding a solution will be worth it, wouldn’t you agree?
